Longhorn 70.3

What a great day for athletes racing Longhorn 70.3 held in Austin, Texas!

In a blue cap at 8:10am, Sasja Jackson was at the swim start of her 3rd half ironman performance.  She finished the fresh-water swim course at Decker Lake in 43:40 and handled the bike course with tenacity averaging a strong 20.1mph.  The 2 loop run was tough, but the hills, gravel and grass were no distraction for  Sasja, who fulfilled her goal of a sub 2:00 half marathon, covering the 13.1 run miles in 1:56:09.  Her overall time was a 17-minute personal best of 5:33:23!

Starting at 8:05 am with bib #1102,  Jorge Lemus-- in his first half ironman appearance--swam 1.2 miles in 38:44.   His riding time was a fast 2:33:58, averaging 21.8 mph.  He tackled the infamous running hills at the Texas' Capital, and Jorge  finished his race in an overall time of 5:43:47, with a 2:23:12 run.  Jorge's goal for this race was to go under 5:50.  Mission accomplished!

Rick Wilson had a 43:41 swim. Unfortunately he flatted on the bike not once, not twice, but FOUR times... and amazingly still finished the bike course under 4 hours!  He 'soldiered' on (no pun intended), pushed through and finished the race to its end. He ran 2:30:45 for half marathon, and his overall time was 7:22:27.

Great job OutRival Racing triathletes!
