Ironman Texas

ORR Athletes Pre-Race, not everyone could make the photo :-(
Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas 2012 brought an amazing field of athletes to the Woodlands this past Saturday, May 19th, 2012. Race morning temperatures were cool at the swim by Texas standards, but the day began to heat up as soon as the sun came out full-force. Eventually the athletes were met by windy conditions and a searing sun on the bike course. The run course gave no reprieve. Despite conditions that have now given Ironman Texas a "tough" reputation, the OutRival Racing athletes proved to be tougher!  Among the group were several smoking fast splits and finish times, Ironman PRs, and even a Kona Qualifier! Congratulations to OutRival Racing athletes and their families for making it through an exhilarating but very challenging day!

Below are the results for ORR.  Congrats to Coach Michelle LeBlanc for winning the 35-39AG, finishing 8th overall female, and qualifying for the Kona Ironman World Championships. Bob Maus finished 15th in the 45-49 AG with a 10:39:25. Roberto Guiot, Tate Wright, and Nathan Winkelmann also finished in the top 10 in the AGs with sub-11 times! Courtney Livaudais had the third fastest amateur swim time at 58 minutes. Way to go ORR!
