Congrats to three ORR athletes for racing strong at Austin 70.3 last weekend. For Melissa Rothe and Jeff Kouts, this was their first half ironman. Erica Gault finished with a big PR in the half iron distance! Melissa finished her first half ironman swim in 48 minutes, biked 3 hours and 20 minutes, and ran 2 hours and 17 minutes. Overall finishing time for Melissa was 6:34:00.
Jeff Kouts finished his first half ironman in 6:54:01. He swam 38:48, biked 3:21, and ran 2:43. Both Melissa and Jeff are doing Ironman Texas next Spring.
Erica Gault finished her second half with over a 30 minute PR. Erica swam 40:35, biked 3:26, and ran 2:51. Erica will be doing the Woodlands Marathon as well as Ironman Coeur d'Alene next year.
