Notable finishes include:
Chris Gause won her AG and a ticket to Las Vegas (which she declined since she is racing Kona!) in 8:04:47.
Lisa Berman finished 10th in the 45-49AG with a 5:37:35.
Coach Michelle LeBlanc finished first 14th overall female and first overall age-group female (if the results get fixed, other-wise second overall AG finisher) in a time of 4:36:59.
Several guys beat the 5 hour barrier and finished high up in their categories:
Bradley Pigage and Todd Teren finished 7th and 8th overall in the 25-29 AG with times of 4:33:22 and 4:33:38.
Roberto Guiot finished in 4:48:16, which was good enough for 17th place in the 35-39AG.
John Laskowski and Tate Wright finished 28th and 29th in the 40-44 AG with times of 4:56:19 and 4:57:13, respectively.
Bob Maus finished 17th in the competitive 45-49AG with a 4:55:02.
Richard Tramm set a HUGE PR of over 2 hours faster than he did 2 years ago at this same race! Richard finished in 5:52:05 this year! Steven Johnson also set a big PR finishing in 5:07:29, as did
Triny Aguirre who finished in 5:29:10. Several other athletes had PRs including Kelly Jenkins, Kyle Stanosheck, Lisa Berman, Ana Lemus, Leslie Watts, and Kolette Miller. Laurie Maziekas crashed on the bike and still had a 40+ minute PR. Wow!
First-timers included Ariel Mata, Dennis McErlean, Erin Rivers, Jason Hradecky, Jodi McErlean, Kim Juul, Kristine Anthony, Leonel Guerrero, Rafael Mercado, Raul Villareal, Sheri Bisono, Woodie Zachary, and Yuji Iwanaka. What a tough first half ironman to finish!!
