Congrats to three incredible athletes for finishing the Rocky Racoon 50-mile Race this last Saturday in Huntsville! Shawn Kirk, Richard Tramm, and Leslie Dupuy took on the challenging, muddy course and had incredible first-time 50-Miler experiences.
Shawn finished the race in 12 hours and 41 minutes, Richard finished in 12 hours and 6 minutes, and Leslie finished right at 14 hours. Each athlete had great post-race feedback:
Ricard's race report can be found at: http://intotransition.blogspot.com/2012/02/rocky-raccoon-50-mile-race-report.html
Leslie finished right at 14 hours. Here is a quick race report from Leslie:
"We started in thunder and lightening and several inches of rain. It was kinda cool running in those conditions. I finished the first loop right at 4 hours; the mud really slowed me down. I'm not the most steady on my feet person even under the best conditions. Lots of unplanned walking and a bunch of people lost their shoes. The second loop felt better than the first but again the mud had me walking a lot more than planned. Third loop felt fine but once it got dark it was mostly fast walking with a little jogging on the dry areas. Not that I felt bad, just couldn't see well enough to feel confident with running. Overall I feel good today, just a little stiff. Thinking I'll register for next year!"
Shawn's race report was short and sweet: "Sign me up for a 100-miler!" Ha!! We are guessing Shawn enjoyed his first 50-mile experience!!
Way to go ORR athletes!!
