Sheri O'Keefe won the overall Grandmaster's title (and was top ten overall female finishers!) in a time of 5:52:28. Her time for the 1.2 mile swim was 40:20, 2:48:40 (19.9 mph) for the the 56 mile bike, and 2:20 (10:43 pace) for the half marathon run. If you congratulate her in person, feel free to just say 'good job' rather than 'congrats Grandmaster." Something about that title just doesn't sit right with her. :-)
Ana Rivero-Lemus set a half ironman personal record in 6:21:51! She had a speedy swim in 37:17, biked 2:49:00 (19.8 mph), and ran 2:50. Ana finished 4th in her Age-group!
Erin Cook finished 4th in her Age-Group as well with an overall time of 5:59:33. Despite a lot of rib pain from a bike crash two weeks ago, Erin was (barely!) able to have a strong swim in 36:00, a strong bike in 2:51:54, and a steady 2:25 run.
Lori Culberson accomplished her goal of finishing this brutal half ironman in preparation for Ironman Florida in 8 weeks! Lori finished just under 8 hours with a 56:33 swim, 3:26 bike, and 3:28 run. This was a 15 min bike PR for Lori!
Awesome job ladies!! Next up for Lori is Ironman Florida and next up for Ana, Sheri, and Erin is Ironman Cozumel in November.
