Congrats to several ORR athletes for incredible racing a the Dirty Dozen Mountain Bike Race at Bluff Creek Ranch this Saturday. This race consisted of a 8 hour and 4 hour mountain bike relay on a 7-8 mile single track course. Teams try to log as many laps as possible with only 1 member riding at a time in the 12 hour or hour time period. There was also a solo division.
Despite crazy rain, muddy conditions and a delayed start-time, Raul Luzardo, Brandon Barber, and Coach Nathan Winkelmann raced strong! Raul Luzardo partnered with "Gears and Beers" rider, Jim Harrington, in the 6-Hour 2-Person Male Category. Lap after lap, they took turns at riding as hard as they could. Raul and Jim raced from behind into second place! Way to race guys!
Brandon Barber finished fourth in the Men's open 6-Hour event. Despite a mechanical, Brandon had an incredible race as well by finishing nine laps. Coach Nathan Winkelmann won the Men's Open Solo 12-Hour race by keeping it steady and cranking into first place at the end.
