The Austin Triathlon


Congrats to the OutRival Racing athletes who raced The Austin Triathlon on Labor Day.  This top-rated event consists of both Olympic and Sprint distance races and brings out some great competition! Seven ORR athletes raced the Olympic distance and one raced the Sprint. 
Sarah Gray finished second in the invitational with a personal best 2:08:40! Sarah came out of the water in second place in a time of 21:43 for the 1.5K, then had a super-fast 1:05:55 bike, followed by a 37:39 for the 10K run.  
Rick Parker finished second place in the 45-49AG!  He swam 26:22, biked 1:08:52, and ran 44:19. Overall finishing time for Rick was 2:24:57. 
Scott Farrand finished in 3:05:08. Scott had a 42 minute swim, biked 17.8mph, and ran himself into 26th place in his AG with a speedy 8:29 min/mile run pace.
John Laskowski also had a strong race with an overall time of 2:28:39.  John swam 28:12, biked 1:08:28, and finished with a speedy 47:37, or 7:41 min/mile 10K run. John finished 15th overall in the competitive 40-44AG. 
Tommy Behe swam 25:53, biked 19.7mph, and ran7:56 min/mile pace.  Tommy finished 22nd in his AG in 2:36:06.
Eighteen-year old Brennan James finished his first Olympic triathlon in 3:03:37! Brennan swam 31:30, biked 16.6mph, and ran 9 min/mile pace. 
Rafa Mercado finished in 2:53:37. Rafa had a 32 minute swim, a 1:20 bike and a 55:49 10K Run.
Kevin Barr raced his first Sprint distance triathlon (yes, he's a three-time Ironman finisher!) in 1:42:35. Kevin had great splits in all three disciplines and is happy to be back to racing!
