Adventure Racer, as well as triathlete and Expert Mountain biker, Nathan Winkelmann (or "Wink") is one of the top Adventure Racers in the nation. He has raced two races this past month in preparation for the National Adventure Race Championship in October.
Nathan Winkelmann and Michelle LeBlanc raced on the iMOAT Team at the Gator Bait Adventure Race in Huntsville last month. The race consisted of a 5K trail run, a 20-30 minute paddle, an 8 mile mountain bike, and 2 mystery events (one consisted of jumping in the lake in cycling attire and swimming to get a little plastic ball :-). Nathan and Michelle finished first overall out of all teams.
Nathan also competed in the 12th Man Adventure Race in Navasota on July 2nd. This race started off with a mountain bike, then had a paddle, a 5K run, and a special test. Nathan finished first by over two minutes. Next up for Nathan is Bridgeland Sprint followed by the Adventure Race 24-Hour National Championship in Kentucky.
