Memorial Hermann 70.3, Sunday April 10th, 2011

OutRival Racing had a great showing a at the Memorial Hermann Half Ironman on Sunday, April 10th in Galveston, Texas! Numerous athletes had fantastic races in the hot, humid, and very windy half ironman.
First time Half Ironman finishers included Kelley Jenkins, Shannon Butkus, Sandra Braniff, and Brandon Pounds.  All four had great races and can now be called 'Half Ironmans'!! Next up for Kelley and Sandra is the CB&I Triathlon; Shannon is racing Florida 70.3, and Brandon is racing Ironman Texas.
Mary Kay Cooper, Kelly Golden, and Jorge Lemus competed in this race as their second-ever Half Ironman.  Despite the heat and humidity on the run, all three gutted it out to the end.  Kelley Golden had a six minute PR from her last half ironman. Next up for all three of these athletes is the CB&I Triathlon.
Eric Crecelius, Karen Maldonado, Sasja Jackson, Nicolle Mallette, Ana Lemus, and Brandon Pounds are all training for Ironman Texas and used this race as preparation. Eric raced a personal best 5:30:36 and had a fantastic 8:28 min/mile run pace.  Karen Maldonado finished in 5:12:39 with a strong 7:56 min/mile run pace.  Karen qualified for 2011 World's 70.3 in Las Vegas! Sasja Jackson finished in 5:39:09 and also had a fabulous run averaging 8:28 min/mile pace.  Nicolle Mallette had the race of her life and finished with a big personal best!  Nicolle finished in 5:40:32 with strong splits in all three disciplines.  Ana Lemus also had a great race despite getting a flat (yet again!) on the bike.  Ana accomplished her goals and finished with a steady run in 6:10:08.
It was a great experience and it was an incredible Team atmosphere! Thanks to everyone who came out to support OutRival Racing.
