Race Report from Texas State Time Trial

This was the second year I had participated in the Texas State Cycling Time Trial. It's a 40K race in Pattison Texas (west of Houston). Last year it was one of my first races after having Kate, so I was pleasantly surprised with a sub-hour 40K time. This year, I felt the pressure of riding another sub-hour race on the ride over to Pattison. I have tweaked my bike fit quite a bit this season, so I was a eager to see if these changes have indeed made me faster.

I was able to again break an hour, and actually got under 59 minutes this year, with a finish time of 58:29. This again helped me set the female course record for the State Time Trial. Unfortunately, I locked my keys in the car minutes before the start, so I had to scramble for a helmet, water bottle, etc. I am so appreciative to Claire Andrews, Steve Schoger, and Patrick ? for being so generous with their equipement. I even got an upgrade to a Giro aero helmet thanks to Patrick. Thanks to Bikelane for my awesome QR Lucero Lite and Zipp wheels. The Woodlands Cycling Club is an awesome group of people, too!!!
